Vivo Y100 with color-changing design launched

Design and Display

The Y100 initially borrows certain design elements from the pricey V-series smartphone. Although it only comes in Gold and Blue, this glass back can change color. On the other side, the Matte Black option has a matte surface that glitters. Also, the phone weighs 171 kilos and measures 7.73mm, respectively.

Two camera rings are also mounted on the back panel, which protrudes from it. It is known as the “Dual Ring Pearl Glass” design because, according to Vivo, the camera area has a pearl-like gloss.

Moving ahead, the 6.38-inch AMOLED screen on the Vivo Y100 comes with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The Full HD+ display has a maximum brightness of 1300 nits and is approved for HDR10+ content.

Processor

The phone’s internal hardware is a Dimensity 900 5G chipset, which is an older version of the newer Dimensity 1080 found in devices like the Realme 10 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Pro series. With two Cortex-A78 cores operating at 2400 MHz and six Cortex-A55 cores operating at 2000 MHz, the Octa-core silicon is based on a 6nm technology.

A Mali-G68 MC4 GPU handles the graphics. In addition, the processor has 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. Moreover, users can simulate add up to 8GB of Memory.

Camera Setup

The Vivo Y100 features a triple camera configuration with a 64MP optically stabilized sensor at the rear. Two 2MP sensors are added to the primary lens to capture depth and macro images. A 16MP front camera is available for taking selfies.

A 5000mAh battery powers the Vivo Y100 and is charged using a 44W fast charging technology. The manufacturer provided the device with Android 13 on top of Funtouch OS 13. The connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 5, 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm headphone connector, and a USB Type-C port.
