Apple is going to launch its MacBook with M4 chip soon. With the M4, the entire range of Mac products will be improved, in contrast to previous M-series CPUs. When can we expect the release of all of Apple’s new M4 Macs, including the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio?
Even though 2024 is almost over, Apple isn’t slowing down. Later this month, the tech behemoth with headquarters in Cupertino is anticipated to host a second Fall media event. Although historical data indicates that the event might occur at any point before the end of October, we’re betting on mid-month. Since this is a US election year, Apple undoubtedly doesn’t want its announcement to be overshadowed.

Coming Soon: M4 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac (MacBook with M4 Chip)
If you’re considering a new MacBook Pro, Mac mini, or iMac, the wait won’t be long. Apple is finally going to launch the Macbook with an m4 chip soon. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, these models are slated for M4 updates this fall, likely debuting at an October event, 9to5Mac reported. All current MacBook Pro models will be upgraded with the M4 chip. A more affordable 14-inch version with the standard M4 chip is expected, while the premium 14-inch and 16-inch models will feature the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. Significant changes beyond the chip upgrade are not anticipated for the MacBook Pro.
Apple’s Mac mini is getting smaller. The device for this year will resemble the Apple TV 4K in design but be significantly smaller. It will have an M4 or the more powerful M4 Pro chip installed. By year’s end, the M4 chip will probably be available for the iMac. There aren’t many specifics regarding this release, but USB-C support is anticipated.
M4 MacBook Air
The M3 chip was just added to Apple’s most popular Mac earlier this year, but the M4 MacBook Air isn’t anticipated to ship until spring 2025. It is unknown if the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models will undergo any modifications beyond a processor bump when they are simultaneously updated to the M4 chip.
It’s unlikely that Apple will release any significant updates to its hardware. The M2 variant of the MacBook Air was a recent makeover. Because of this, if you’re currently in the market for a MacBook Air, the M4 might not be worth the wait in comparison to other models.
M4 Mac Studio, Mac Pro
It is anticipated that M4 updates for Apple’s desktop workhorses, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, will be released in the middle of 2025, maybe during WWDC. These devices are probably going to be the first with an M4 Ultra chip in addition to a less expensive M4 Max option for the Mac Studio at the very least.
Not much else is known about the Mac Studio and Mac Pro at this time. The possibility of one or both models undergoing hardware redesigns is something to keep an eye on. It’s possible that the Studio will reduce in size somewhat in line with the Mac mini. But since the Mac Pro is long overdue for a redesign, I’d bet more on a different design.
The full M4 lineup in one year
In less than a year, Apple will have updated every Mac to new CPUs if it can meet its projected timeframe. That is, in a sense, Apple Silicon’s dream. Whether a Mac needs a major overhaul or just a little performance boost, Apple can now release updates more quickly than in the past.
For Mac users, the iPad was given priority over the M4. However, the wait for an M4 MacBook will end soon. Which forthcoming M4 Mac model piques your curiosity the most? Please tell us in the comments.
The Apple Intelligence
We anticipate Apple Intelligence to make a cameo at the event, although a little one, even though the Mac models will take center stage. Users of iPhones are still unable to access many AI functions. These consist of ChatGPT integration, the Image Playground, and Genmoji, among others.
