Motorola Moto G13 launched with 90Hz display and a 5000mAh battery

After weeks of speculation, Motorola has finally unveiled the Moto G13, its latest budget offering. It’s basically a scaled down version of the Moto G23 that was also released alongside it. So let’s see what Motorola has to offer with the Moto G13, in addition to the expected price in India.

Motorola Moto G13 Overview:

Design

The Moto G13 has an elegant and slim design, similar to the Moto G23. On the back of the phone is a square camera module with three sensors and the Motorola bat wing logo in the centre.

In terms of dimensions, it is 8.19mm thick and weighs 183.4 grams. The phone is available in Matte Graphite, Lavender Blue and Rose Gold. In addition, the G13 has an IP52 rating, making it water and dust resistant.

The front features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a punch-hole notch in the middle. According to Motorola, it’s an HD+ display that refreshes at 90Hz while also supporting an impressive 576Hz touch sample rate. The maximum brightness is 400 nits.

Motorola has also included a Panda Glass protector to protect the screen from accidental drops. Despite being an entry-level phone, it has a stereo speaker setup and even supports Dolby Atmos.

Another difference between the G13 and G23 is the camera. Both phones have a 50MP main lens and a 2MP macro lens. But the G23 has a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, while Motorola dropped it in favor of another 2MP depth sensor on the G13. For selfies, the G13 has an 8MP camera, while the G23 has a 16MP lens.

Performance

The Moto G13 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. It is a 12 nm SoC with two Cortex-A75 cores (@ 2.0 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 cores (1.8 GHz). It should also be noted that the G85 is a 4G processor, which means the G13 only supports 4G LTE connectivity.

However, rumors suggest that Motorola could launch a 5G G13 variant.

The RAM is 4GB, with the storage of 128GB, the latter being expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card. Likewise, the G13 comes with Android 13 pre-installed. Although the G13 and G23 are the same so far, there are certainly some differences. However, rumors suggest that Motorola could launch a 5G G13 variant.

For starters, both phones are expected to come with a 5000mAh battery. However, the charging speed of G13 is only 10W while G23 supports 30W charging.
