Motorola Moto G64 5G Overview
Design and Display
The latest Moto product uses the company’s older design language. This phone has a squircle camera hump with a large protrusion. This is a departure from recent Moto products, which had the camera bump merge perfectly into the phone’s rear. The Moto G64 5G features a 3D Premium PMMA body and an IP52 water resistance rating.
The front display is 6.5 inches and uses an IPS LCD panel. In addition, it has an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Moto G64 5G screen is surrounded by large bezels, particularly in the chin area. It comes in three colors: mint green, pearl blue, and ice lilac.
Performance
The Motorola Moto G64 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor. This is the first phone in the world to use this chip. It has eight cores, a 6nm manufacturing process, and a max clock speed of 2.5GHz. Looking at it, the new chip appears to be a slightly overclocked form of the Dimensity 7020.
Aside from that, the phone comes in two variations. The smaller one has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. Meanwhile, the pricier option has 12GB of memory and 256GB of internal storage. Both models can support up to 1TB of external storage. On the software side, the Moto G64 5G runs Android 14 with My UX on top. The manufacturer promises one OS update and three years of security updates for this phone.
Camera & Others
In terms of optics, it features a twin camera arrangement on the rear and a single front-facing camera. The rear camera has a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an eight-megapixel ultrawide shooter. The main camera features Quad Pixel technology, which increases the sensor’s effective resolution to 12.5 MP. Meanwhile, the Moto G64 5G’s auxiliary lens may also function as a macro shooter. Finally, the front camera is a 16MP equipment that also supports facial recognition.
The entire system is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery that allows 30W turbo charging. The phone, however, comes with a 33W charger in the box. The Moto G64 5G features a dual speaker and microphone configuration. In the meanwhile, it has a hybrid SIM slot, and eSIM support is region-specific. The phone’s wireless connectivity features 5G LTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth v5.3, and six-way navigation. However, it does not support NFC, as expected. Finally, wired connections include a USB 2.0 Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
