With its top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen series SoCs, Qualcomm has been attempting to maintain its lead in the competition for mobile chipsets. In this lineup, the company has already debuted the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile processor, the third iteration in this premium series, will be made available by the firm soon. The CPU architecture and more information about the next Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset have surfaced in the most recent developments.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Overview:
Performance
The most recent rumor reveals a different CPU core structure, in contrast to earlier leaks that suggested the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will have the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is rumored to include a 1+5+2 CPU cluster, whereas the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 had a 1+4+3 core cluster architecture. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is reported to be able to deliver better CPU and GPU efficiency than the Snapdragon 8 Gen series mobile chipsets because of its new architectural design.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is currently thought to include one Cortex X4 core operating at 3-2 GHz, as shown by Twitter leaker Revegnus. That number is probably off because a prior leak indicated it could go as high as 3.75 GHz. It will have two Cortex-A520 cores running at 2.0 GHz and five Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3.0 GHz. This is far more plausible since, as predicted by another source, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would need as many performance cores as it can obtain to score 1,930/6,236 in Geekbench’s single- and multi-core tests.
Some of the other features of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 consists of an Adreno 750 GPU, LPDDR5 7,500 MT/s RAM, UFS 4.1 memory, and a Qualcomm X75 5G modem. The leaker (as well as several others) insist that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be produced on TSMC’s N4P manufacturing node, suggesting that three generations of Qualcomm flagships will be stranded on what are essentially different iterations of TSMC’s N5 node.
Furthermore, it will take a little bit more than just a slight node improvement to achieve the enormous performance gains mentioned above. This leaves us with two options. The first is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is actually a 3 nm processor made on either the state-of-the-art node from Samsung or TSMC. If it is N4P-based, on the other hand, the leaked Geekbench score is greatly exaggerated, and its real-world performance increases may be far less substantial.
The model number is SM8650 and the GPU name is Adreno 750 according to Digital Chat Station. The production of the chips is anticipated to continue by TSMC when it switches from the N4 to the N4P node, which is still a 4nm process technology but with a minor increase in efficiency.
The production cycle of N4P is sufficient and reasonably priced, and the manufacturers in Taiwan are prepared to start mass production once the phone companies’ trial is through. This is why TSMC is not choosing the 3nm technology.

Smartphone Expected to lunch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3:
The names of the anticipated models that would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor have not yet been announced by any smartphone manufacturers. Nevertheless, we can expect some of the names when this chipset is formally introduced. High-end smartphones from Samsung, OnePlus, iQOO, and other manufacturers may be among the first to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. If there are any updates, we’ll let you know.
