Samsung Galaxy M55 5G launched with SD 7 Gen 1 and IP67 rating!

The Samsung Galaxy M55 is now official after months of rumours. Despite rumours that it is a different Galaxy A55 model, this one has some improvements, particularly in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC powers it rather than the Exynos 1480 SoC. Let’s talk about the specifications, features, and expected cost of the Galaxy M55 5G in India.

Design and Display

The Galaxy M55 continues the elegant Samsung back design, which has an outward-protruding camera lens and an up-front hole-punch display. However, the centre frame is curved rather than flat. It offers the Galaxy A55 5G’s IP67 dust and water rating.

The display is a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. With a max brightness of 1000 nits, it has an optical fingerprint sensor located beneath the screen.

Chipset and Memory

Moving on to the performance of the smartphone! The 4nm-produced Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU from Samsung powers the Galaxy M55! The phone has 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

The Galaxy M55 comes with, One UI 6.1, which is based on Android 14, will be updated every 4 years, and security fixes will be available for 5 years.

Camera and Battery

Regarding the cameras, the primary 50MP sensor with OIS appears to be a carryover from the Galaxy A55, but the 2MP macro and 8MP ultrawide are a little less impressive. On the front, however, is a 50MP selfie camera with better resolution.

The battery’s 5000 mAh capacity remains the same, but the 45W charging speed is flagship-level (by Samsung standards).
