Vivo V27 Pro 5G Officially Launched with MediaTek Processor

On March 1st 2023, Vivo officially released the Vivo v27 pro 5G. This is scheduled for release on 19th march 2023. Vivo has introduced the new V27 Pro, which is a brand-new phone created from scratch in many respects. The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor, which we previously encountered and adored in the iQOO Neo 7, is present. Also, it has a primary camera sensor from Sony called the IMX766V that has been specially modified for nighttime shooting.

The Vivo V27 Pro maintains the small form factor and the notoriously slick rear surface of the V-series. Yet compared to other glass sandwiches, it’s quite lightweight to grasp, so we liked carrying it around in our pockets. Similar to its predecessor, the V27 Pro has a curved front and back, but a somewhat modified camera island. It is longer this time to make room for the ring flash.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Overview:

Design & Display

The Vivo V27 Pro maintains the small form factor and the notoriously slick rear surface of the V-series. Yet compared to other glass sandwiches, it’s quite lightweight to grasp, so we liked carrying it around in our pockets. Similar to its predecessor, the V27 Pro has a curved front and back, but a somewhat modified camera island. It is longer this time to make room for the ring flash.

Vivo is aware of the demographic it hopes to attract with this smartphone: individuals who value in-hand experience above on-paper features and those who don’t trust internet retailers. Thus, given the price, this phone must be among those that feel more luxurious.

An AMOLED 10-bit curved display measuring 6.78 inches diagonally is included with the Vivo V27 Pro. Because of how tall and thin the phone is, despite the panel’s enormous size—second only to the S23 Ultra’s immense size—it feels remarkably manageable. Though Vivo hasn’t disclosed any information regarding the brightness numbers, it is eager to accept inputs, has a refresh rate of 120Hz, and is bright enough outside. In addition, they have been mum regarding the device’s HDR or Dolby certifications.

Netflix and Amazon Video both offer Full HD content, but neither service supports HDR playback. Also, the phone automatically switches to a lower brightness while watching HDR material on YouTube, and this setting is unchangeable even if auto brightness is disabled. When seeing things outside, this can become annoying. Yet, given it is a regular, Vivo-tuned AMOLED display, the colors are lovely and vivid.

Camera

One of the V27 Pro’s major selling points, in addition to its slim profile and color-changing appearance, is its optically stabilized triple camera system with the “Aura Light” ring flash module.

The Sony IMX766 is a typical primary sensor for the majority of entry-level flagship and mid-range cellphones currently on the market for a good reason. It performs well at night and offers high-resolution output.

The IMX766V sensor, which is modified for use in the V27 Pro, is used for night shooting. A 2-megapixel closeup camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera are attached.

With this many functions, photography is a little more enjoyable than with other, more minimalist smartphones. One such option for wedding photography improves skin tones and skin textures to better capture the mood of an Indian wedding. You must enter portrait mode, hit Style, and then choose “Wedding” in order to use this. You can cycle through the three LUTs (look-up tables) in this area by repeatedly hitting the Wedding button. Wedding photographers who don’t want to spend a fortune on a flagship or specialized camera may find the output interesting.

The ultrawide camera offers a much more consistent experience; it performs well during the day, taking detailed pictures, but falters in low light, creating muddy, noisy pictures.

Hardware & Performance

The gaming powerhouse iQOO Neo 7 and the Vivo V27 Pro are the only two smartphones in India to employ MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chipset. As a result, it has several characteristics in common, including good thermals and adequate power available for some demanding workloads. This might be standard for a device that is primarily used for gaming, like the Neo 7, but in this situation, it makes the V27 Pro seem like a dainty little diva that shocks you by weightlifting.

Three storage configurations—8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB—are paired with the processor. Unfortunately, it isn’t specified what sort of Memory or storage it utilizes, but based only on benchmarking programs, it might be LPDDR4X

There is also Vivo’s FunTouch OS 13, which is based on Android 13. We have so far only received two updates, both of which included the wedding mode and repaired bugs in the camera app. The interface is also highly reminiscent of Neo 7. Bloatware, along with the value of HotApps and HotGames, is on the higher end of the range. The majority of this can be turned off, but there are still several advertisements strewn over the user interface, so you’ll need to put in a few hours to obtain a relatively uncluttered experience free of prompts requesting your consent to see advertisements.
